iCloud account name won't change

I just upgraded my mother's MobileMe family account to iCloud.

Under System Preferences/iCloud, the name C A Skoog is always there. This was my name and I was the master account on the former MobileMe family pack. System Preferences will let me change the name to Mary Ann, but when I exit system preferences and comback, it is the same as before. This also shows up on her iChat with the wrong name, even though it show correctly on my iChat on my computer.

I have upgraded her iMac to Lion 10.7.3 to the latest as of this morning. Mail, calendar, and chat all work correctly, just displaying the wrong name.

Hi! I had the same problem too. On my MacBook, my old Apple ID didn't change on the iCloud System Preferences menu, even though it worked everywhere else.

I got lucky, tried the following and it worked: On the iCloud SystemPreferences window, click the Account Details button on the left, which is between the Apple ID (the old incorrect one) and the Set Up Family button. It will ask for your password and it will be showing the old Apple ID. Type in your password that you have set up for your new correct ID. At some point later (sorry for the weak description here) you'll be asked to type your password again and your old ID will still be there, however, you should be able to replace your ID just by clicking the curser in the ID space and hitting the backspace button or by highlighting and hitting the backspace button. Type in your new ID, next to that, the password. VIOLA! Good luck!

I tried all of the above too to no avail

but then I signed out of @icloud.com on the new computer's icloud system preferences, and signed back in with my old @me.com address.

This worked and my name changed. Try that?

Are you able to log into the MobileMe website or does it direct you to iCloud now?

Yes, it redirects to icloud. I did change the name when I went to appleid.com and it has saved it correctly there. But, it still shows the wrong name on iChat and on System Preferences. It still lets me change the name in System Preferences, but it is not saving it and it goes back to the original.

Try deleting the display name's contact in the Address Book. make sure the email of the icloud login is in the address book as well..

I fixed this by going into the account in iTunes and changing the name of the holder of the credit card. That seems like an add field to determine what the account holder's name is, but that fixed it.

I am having the same problem, and I have changed my name under the appleid, under iCloud preferences, and on iTunes. Is there any other solution?
