iPhone Lock screen/Shutdown button not working

Hello,

I would like to ask if an iPhone which has a disfunctional lock screen/shutdown button (can't be switched off/on using the button) can be switched on by plugging him into power? Will the phone automatically turn on when the battery has power again without the button?

Thanks.

iPhone 3GS, iOS 4.1

Yes, iPhone can be turned OFF using the Home and Power buttons. Hold both buttons for 3-4 seconds when iPhone shuts OFF immediately release the buttons. The iPhone is now OFF.

Yes, iPhone can be turned ON plugging into Power, Wall Charger or USB power, or just using the iPhone Power button, in all instances at the end of the Start-Up process you will get the Lock Screen however.
