How do I set my macbook pro to be able to see it on my networked PC computers?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.3)

This was not what I was looking for but I appreciate your help.


What I needed is:

My MacBook pro is set up to share files, I had assistance from Apple support. Now that it is setup I can see my windows 7 pc in the Finder and copy files to the Mac. When I go to the Windows 7 PC I do not see the MacBook Pro in the network so I am unable to copy if

Es from the Mac to the PC.

I spoke to Microsoft and they can't help unless I pay $50.00 as my windows 7 software was installed by the PC manufacturer Gateway. Needless to say Gateway can't help because the PC is out of warranty.

Setting up your MBP to 'share files' has nothing to do with 'seeing' your PC in Finder. You can access your PC from your Mac if the PC is set to 'share files'.

Is the correct protocol (SMB) enabled, as indicated in §6 in the help file referred to above? If that is not detailed enough, try
