Install where? In it's own partition using Boot Camp or in a Virtual Machine on top of OS X?
You can only install Win 7 in a Boot Camp partition.
You can install any version of Windows in a Virtual Machine software program. I suggest XP for installing into a Virtual Machine as it uses less resources and all current programs still run on it.

ok, so you have a virtual machine program. You realize you need a windows install disk..correct? Do you have one?
yaa i have one..now i need to chose one of the options : 7,XP,VISTA
well I dont know what you plan on using it for. If you have programs that are only compatible up to a certain version of Windows. If you are looking to start fresh, I would recommend the latest version, Win 7.
Ok. you need to go to the Parallels website and get there help file and or look through there knowledge base for instructions.
Basically when it ask what version of Windows Select Windows 7. Then click Next/OK/Continue
I suggest you allocate at least 40GBs as the Win 7b hard drive. You can always exapnd it and or created a second or third or forth virtual HDD if you need it.

You are welcome.

There is no operating system installed in this virtual machine. Please insert an operating system installation CD into the optical drive of your Mac and restart the virtual machine.
i dont know what to do ...
i need your help ... where did you go ?🙂
xp its the best os windows, it runs fast and it has less issues than 7.
yes, its old, but xp runs faster, and its much better than 7... and 7 is going to be old too with windows 8, so..
Others seem to have misinterpreted my statements. I would like to clarify.
I tried to present a balanced statement of XP vs 7. I spoke of age with regards to both the number of patches needed after install (fact) and future support (fact).
I did not debate the "installed size" of XP vs 7.
I gave no recommendations that you "had to follow because I said so".
I hope you can make the best decision for yourself based of what has been presented by all contributors.
