Very high ping time, very slow internet

Hi, I am having the same problem of suboptimal BW with my ISP (FIOS). I get the right speed on a windows laptop and on a mac book pro but I get much slower Upload speed on my iMac. Download speed is the right one on all machines. Rebooting in safe mode makes the problem go away. I have installed already the FIOS Mac broadband optimizer and removed some SW that I found could interact, I also tested different DNS servers. Still no success. Bad netiquette to take a solved 3 month old (closed) thread and then say "me too" and try to open up the OPs solved thread.

A "this helped me" might be appropriate though, otherwise -- in such situations, start a new thread maybe.

I know it is a very old post , but I really got impressed about your method of thinking and solving the problem. Can you please kindly say on which basis you have selected the applications for removal?

If you learn it to us, we can do the procedure later without disturbing you.

Paragon NTFS OS X v. 10.x is the only one I think supporting 10.7.4 and ML currently, if you need to miunt, access external volumes or write to NTFS.
