I am an iPad user that would definitely like an IOS visualizer feature on ipad. I keep my ipad running all day at work playing music (plugged in - so battery drain is not an issue). The music app screen gets boring quickly. I currently use the Planetary app simply because not much else is out there that does not use the ipad microphone to pick up music. I use headphones, so those "mic-based visualizer apps" don't help me. I will submit a feedback request to the link provided.

I use iBeams or maybe it is iBeam. There is a free version I use on my phone and a paid version I use on my iPad.

I like it. My iPad mostly is fix mounted on a RAM mount next to my bed. It is powered and charging most of the time and feeds my stereo. The visualizer is a nice addition for mood lighting.

Apple screwed the pouch leaving this option off.

Try the free version. It is not bad. The pay for version is better. I am not sure if it is worth it. The app should be compatible across all platforms, IMHO.
