You can only read them on iOS devices (iPhone, iPad, iPod touch).
We're not Apple here, just fellow users. So we will have no problems with you buying anything you feel meets your needs.
I trust you're aware that you are not limited to buying books from the iTunes Store for an iOS device but can buy e-books from Amazon, Barnes and Noble, or Google and read them on an iOS device as well as on a computer?
I am, and Apple has been known to browse through here as well. So don't think it's just here.
However I feel compelled to express my feelings of disbelieve and disappointment when Apple's competing book service they discussed at length in the October product launch has such a poor structure. So by all means, rest assured my purchases will be using Amazon Kindle from now on since their product managers seem have a brain.
I thought that it would be cool to purchase the Steve Jobs biography on iBooks, and apparently I was wrong.
Adobe digital does not work for DRM protected books from the Apple Store. This is the reason I have spent thousands of dollars buying books on the Kindle store. You can access your content on your laptop, what a revolutionary concept. I can actually view the content I paid for on my laptop with th click of a button. Never thought I'd live to see the day where Apple is behind Amazon in terms of product functionality and ease of use.
Thanks man! Works like magic! I'm really grateful
I came across the idea that when we have purchased music from the itunes store such as whole cd albums , the came with a digital booklet that is able to open through preview and it is set to scroll to veiw pages is there any way that we can locate the book file that was donloaded and open it the same exact way ???!!!! just a thought only some whole albums come with a didital booklet
Thanks everyone. It is fixed now. But now I have even more problems. If my car had this many problems it would be called a Ford or GM wouldn't it?
Hi friends,
I have installed ADE and now I can read books puchased from iTunes on my mac.

I am using MBP 13" late 2011, 2.4 GHz, i5, 4GB RAM.
Draged from iTunes to desktop as an epub file. Opened Adobe Digital Aditions 2.0 added the iBook epub file, but It didn't work for me also 😠it can see the page numbers but no actual print on the screen. How did it work for you guys??
Me too is there any way in the world i can read my book on my computerðŸ˜
I NEVER post in forums for products. But I felt COMPELLED to log in right now and comment on the pure idiocy of this situation! I just got sold a book... THAT I CANT READ. Thats the bottom F'ing line. What the **** is wrong with apple?
Adobe Digital Editions does not work for Windows PC's if you want to read a book. Downloaded, installed, dragged the .epub file to ADE, and all I get is a blank book.
I might be convinced to continue to be a customer of thiers if I can read a book on my PC. Otherwise, I'm done.
Cecil, i agree. Apple is the lamest company in the world, albeit one of the richest. Cannot play my entire library of music from iphone to Android. Cannot read books. Cannot watch movies. In short, it is amazing to me that these idiots have been so successful. What is even more bewildering is the high minded, entitled arrogance of their sales force (brainwashed by corporate for just this purpose) to offend. Geniuses!! Hah, what a joke! I hope they become a bad memory soon. They only people more stupid are the sheep they've created who still drink their lemonade.
