Transfer purchases to another ID

And no I don't use the iCloud service, I just mean the photos videos on my iPhone and iPad.

Here is an issue we have at work. All employees getting iDevices(iPads/iPhones) created an iTunes account using their corporate email addresses. Originally employees were told that they could download free apps on the iDevice using their corporate email iTunes ID. A policy will soon be passed stating that all apps, even free apps need to be purchased/downloaded from a 'personal iTunes ID'.

Here is the rub. We don't know how to transfer the 'corporate' iTunes ID apps to the personal iTunes ID for those users that downloaded non-work-related apps on to the iDevice(s). The goal is this. If you log on to an employee’s iDevice with their corporate iTunes ID, ONLY the apps approved by and purchased by the company should be listed. NOT any other app.

Some employees have purchased gift cards and redeemed them under the corporate iTunes ID. These need to be transferred as well.

Yes, all of this should have been thought out before implementing iDevices, but companies don't always consult the proper personnel first. With FOIA, this is becoming a big issue.

Ideas?

Hi guys. I have an ipad and I just bought an iphone 5 for my wife. When I was registering the iphone I used my own apple id. Is there a way to change the apple id and re-register the iphone under a new apple id?

On the iPhone, go to Settings > iTunes & App Stores.

Select the Apple ID at the top and at the menu window that appears, select Sign Out.

Sign in there with her Apple ID.

At Settings > Messages > Send & Receive, select your Apple ID and at the menu window that appears, select Sign Out. Sign in there with her Apple ID for iMessage. After doing so if your Apple ID email address remains below You can be reached by iMessage at: and below Start new conversations from:, delete your Apple ID email address from both locations.

I find the idea of everything attached to an Apple ID yet untransferrable rediculous. Mainly because what happens if one gets married or, worse, divorsed? There's no way to really combine the two! What happens if my children move out, bought some of their software on my AppleID- you're saying that now they have to pay for it AGAIN?

I'm glad Apple is allowing multiple Apple ID's to be logged into devices, but that's still FAR from ideal. DRM should make sense, not make being legal feel like being a slave.

The smug, smart arse attitude of some people on this board is appalling. OP had a perfectly reasonable request and he was responded to with "so you want to steal your sisters apps". What a miserable reply, just shameful. There a loads of people who who want to transfer or merge apps to new accounts and they deserve respectful answers. Apple, if they want to keep customers, needs to look after the ir customers as a priority. No wonder people are moving to Andriod in droves.

I think that is a delusion that you have. Android platform may be successful in attracting new users, but there is no evidence that Apple's iOS platform is losing folks over to Android. And Apple continues to attract new users by droves as well, especially as it continues to open new markets with its products.

This thread is evidence enough. The only people still hanging on are the stubborn ones who refuse to branch out and ask if there is something better. When I can't get features on my iphone or Mac product, I search the Internet for other products that offer those features.

I'm getting a nexus 4 soon because it does everything my iphone does plus more. And wow what more does it do. And not only does it have more its offered at an unlocked price of $300 or $350 for the 16GB model. My family and I have been using apple products solely for the last 10 years. I remember getting my first click wheel iPod and thinking it was the newest greatest thing. And it was. But now I don't feel that way about my Mac products. Anyone who automatically claims apple has the best this or that is just fooling themselves because you've been living under a rock for the last 5 years. Competition has heated up and far surpassed apple in every way except maybe security.

Pretty soon ill be building a PC and moving away from my iMac. Although I will still use my iMac as an external monitor for my new PC. And I know about everyone on this thread will tell me, "good to to google we don't want you here", or "you are making a mistake." Apple will catch on eventually but they have a lot of catching up to do. Their business model is what has put them behind and until they change that, apple users will continue to suffer. And trust me when I say I love apple products and will continue to use them. But I can't sit back and deny that the competition has offerings that I'm not seeing in my apple products. I'm just being a smart consumer.

You should use the product that you like. Period. If you like something better then you like Apple, buy it, use it.

Do you like your iphone? And if there was something better, would you consider trading your iphone for the better product?

I don't think that there is a better product for my purposes than the iPhone. So I'm not interested in another product. If you believe that for you there is one better, buy it.
