Transfer purchases to another ID

Purchases are tied to the Apple ID thats in use when they are download .

If apple ID is changed then apps must be paid for again .

You also ought to consider Family Sharing. It enables sharing of content between family members.

I Have some problems like this . When I first bought my iPhone I didnt have apple ID .so I used my friend's apple ID and installed some apps immediately . Now I have an apple ID but when I want to update my apps which I installed them with my friend's apple ID , it asks to write the password ; my freind forgets his apple ID password . What can i do ?

Delete the apps and buy and download them on your account

it would be nice to be able to transfer from my one business account to another so i dont have to sign into both accounts on one system... But I get it's something that would in most cases be badly taken advantage of.

I have a similar problem, but a different circumstance, which I think warrants an answer, which I believe someone else did, in a helpful way. My situation is, I purchased iTunes under an old account a long time ago, after a while, I consolidated all my accounts into one, but I want to take all the purchases from other accounts that I OWN and consolidate them under one. Although you could assume that on one specific scenario, like stealing, you could be right, but on many other reasons, under the umbrella of consolidation, it's a very valid question. Maybe next time, you could instead be helpful, give people the benefit of the doubt remain on the trusting, and positive side of what people need. Keep the negative scenarios to yourself. Very much obliged.

Perhaps you didn't read the original post very carefully. The OP wanted to take purchases from his sister's account and move them to his to avoid having to pay for them. rbyrlawski's answer needs to be considered in that context. Perhaps once you've spent some time on these forums and helped as many people as he has, criticism about his approach won't seem as much like tone trolling.

While your situation may be different, the answer is still no, you can't transfer purchases from one account to another.

We were told this when we went to the apple store and enquired about family sharing. Thanks for clarifying.

So legally, if Lan's sister is not using the ipad she can only loan it indefinitely to Lan; not give it to him. OK.

I'm interested in knowing this too. I would like to transfer the purchases I had on my old work account to my personal account, if possible.
