Is siri on iPad 3?

Is siri on iPad 3? It does not say so anywhere on Apple's iPad 3 pages.

It better be. I won't buy one otherwise.

From http://www.apple.com/ipad/features/ :

Write an email. Send a text. Search the web. Or create a note. And do it all with only your voice. Instead of typing, tap the microphone icon on the keyboard. Then say what you want to say while your iPad listens. Tap Done and, just like that, your spoken words become written words. Dictation also works with third-party apps, so you can do things like update your Facebook status or share a thought on your Twitter feed.

I google'd too. But the results were from questionable sources, merely speculating from what information was available before and after today's reported events.

I'm wondering if Wifi iPads won't and maybe 3G/4G iPads will?

They need to clear this up, otherwise many people will be mislead.

It's supposedly part of iOS 5, just not supported by hardware older than iPhone 4S.

They didn't say it wasn't included either. Which, to me, is a very curious omission considering the fact that it was a HUGE selling point of their previous flagship iOS device.

It seems to me they have some explaining to do.

And yes, if it is not included, /stupid threat I won't buy it.

If it was going to be included, Apple would say so. The features and specifications have been clearly stated. So no, it won't be included, not at initial release anyway; we have no way of knowing what might come in the future. If full Siri support is important to you, then don't buy it until such time as it is included.

None of us here know, and speculation and guesswork as to their decision points are fruitless. Apple apparently decided for reasons that seem good to them not to include Siri at this time. Since it's unknown whether it ever will appear, you'll need to make your decision based on the facts as we know them today.
