Mar 7, 2012 2:45 PM in response to rellinbby rellinb, rebuilding permissions w/ disk utility, restarts, and launching w/out internet access have not fixed the problem for me. os 10.7.3. used itunes yesterday before the update with no problems.

Mar 7, 2012 2:47 PM in response to Deni Kasamaby Jac90,Same problem here. Occasionally it will open and is curently working- though I know that if i close it and try and reopen, it'll just start crashing again, because I tried that the first time.
I have Get Lyrical and Sing That iTune. I deleted the Sing That iTune Widget, didn't seem to help.
I deleted caches and tried opening itunes in safe mode (cmd and option as you open it). Neither made a difference.
I'm just hoping a solution is found before it starts messing up again or I have to close it.

Mar 7, 2012 3:05 PM in response to Deni Kasamaby zosbourne9,Well, i'm on windows 7 64-bit 6gm of ram i7 processor and itunes is crashing. I can't downgrade because of an itunes playlist issue. This is annoying. I am wondering why not one apple rep has replyed to this yet.

Mar 7, 2012 3:30 PM in response to Deni Kasamaby whatheck,Check out this Apple article -> iTunes: Troubleshooting issues with third-party iTunes plug-ins
Does iTunes startup normally in Safe Mode or in a new user account?
Are you using any plug-ins with iTunes and does it start normally after removing them?
-
Mar 7, 2012 3:41 PM in response to whatheckby Jac90,Safe mode doesn't make any difference for me. Haven't tried safe boot but can't at the moment, maybe someone else can try and see if it'll work normally from a safe boot?

Mar 7, 2012 4:14 PM in response to Deni Kasamaby kami,No problems with iTunes before upgrade, constant crashing and reporting after upgrade. This is a major bug problem and with such an important release at that. I am using latest Lion with lots of RAM. Just tried to repair permissions, re-download iTunes and install but no go.

Mar 7, 2012 4:07 PM in response to Deni Kasamaby greggmorris,I'm using Lion 10.7.3 and have the same problems. Music, etc. seem to play fine but when I connect my iPhone or iPad, or start iTunes 10.6 with them connected, and then click on the device in iTunes, kaboom! Obviously can't sync, upload new things, etc.
Oddly, as long as I didn't click on the device, I was able to upgrade them to 5.1.
