Prepaid sim cards for iPhone 4 in USA?

I'm visiting the USA in August (from New Zealand) for about a month and am wanting to still have full use of my iPhone/iPad (without incurring huge roaming costs!). Am I able to buy a prepaid sim card in America for my iPhone 4? Has anyone done something similar or able to point me in the right direction?

The main issue is data - most hotels etc will have wifi however this isn't usually cheap and would be good to have cell data when wifi isn't available. I think AT&T's "Go Phone" may be my best option but I'm not clear on whether I can just get a sim card to use with the iPhone 4, as they show a bunch of phones you can buy but iPhone isn't one of them.

If you have an unlocked iPhone you can purchase a sim card from H2O wireless for $10 which will give you both SMS and calling time. You can buy a scratch off card to add more as needed or buy it online. This is in fact easier than buying a sim card in Europe. You can purchase it, activate it and start talking without having to use a passport or other ID like I have to do in Germany. Lots of places have them along with Best Best (which operates kiosks at many airports).

I will be heading to Europe again next week so I had AT&T unlock one of my old 3GS iPhones today (no cost and no hassle) and I then purchased one of these Sim cards for $10, activated it over the phone (took 2 minutes) and then was able to make calls and send text right away.

look fpr dbs sim trade on google or yelp.

he has great plans and also offering unlocking.

i used dbs sim trade like Shauliko recommended and its really amazing.

he shipped the sim card to my hotel in las vegas and i paid only $40. whats most funny here is that my sim card was charged with $75.

i have no idea how he did it but that was amazing! everything unlimited and i had free calls to germany as well.

one more thing, i was very skeptical about this thing at first so he suggested to ship the sim card to me first and that i would pay after i'll make sure it's working. what a great service. no words.
