iPhone 4 crashes when editing photos in the camera roll? (iOS 5.1)

Hey guys. Is a silly problem. If you realy in need and hurry and you have no stag of picts there than take some wild pictures. Than make you desired grab. Make again some pictures. And go to your grab et voilá you can work on it without crash. Stupid solution but if you need to finish something between others it's a help. Your welcome. I'm greatly disappointed about this idiotic problem. Must have something to do with some struggle between others apps I'm afraid :-((

PROBLEM RESOLVED

Hey all, Ive worked out a fix, after youve taken a screenshot, copy the picture to the same album or a new one and that picture can be edited as much as you like, then just delete the screenshot image and your done, i know its a tad annoying but only takes abut 3 seconds and its better than downloading a brand new app etc

I found several ways to fix it too including the one above but after a while, it stopped working for me. My problem seems to be only localized to screenshots as well and it is getting annoying. Even if someone were to find a long term solution, I would still be frustrated because there shouldn't be a problem in the first place. This problem didn't start for me until after I updated to 5.1.1 and I can't believe it's been around since before then and hasn't been fixed. I hope Apple is on top of this and plans to release an update because I want this issue gone!

Yes. My 3GS (iOS5) does that too. It started happening today. I click the cropping section and it automatically shut off. I don't know when this will be resolved, I'm waiting for answers but people have complaints too. Ugh. My mom would think its my fault again. :P

I've had my iPhone 4 for a little over a month now and this is the first time this had happened to me. I just hope Apple notices this and gets around to helping us out soon.

I've also had the exact same problem on my iPod 4th gen. Ever since I updated it, it's crashed when I choose to edit and crop the screen shots. It's unbelievable that this thread has been up since March, and Apple haven't seen it nor got to the problem. I have a funny feeling that the next update might not clear this bugging issue away, but we will just have to wait and see. Wait and see what Apple does, and see if Apple have listened to us.

I have the same problem today. after crashing 3 times in a row.The phone is completely dead. No way to restart it

Does not respond to power charging either. Not recognised by USB on PC. Also ICloud cannot find it.

I'm having the same problem. Maybe I need to dowload newest iOS bc I'm behind...what worked for y'all?

Same problem here. Screenshot only, and it's only the most recent one. When you click on Edit, the phone crashes and reboots.

Deleting the pic, retaking the screenshot, taking a pic with the camera, and then editing the screenshot allowed it to work without incident.

Would be good if Apple reviewed the code to this.

Only occurs on very large files for me. If I wait 30 seconds after I open the file before selecting Edit, I don't get the crash. The same is true on my Mac Pro as well. So the file needs to be stable within the app first, than edit. Try hat and report back.
