Nice find and at a good price! Even better as it will be more efficient. Converting from 12DC to whatever the Mac needs in DC, whithout stepping up to 120 or 240 AC in the process.
Incorrect. You do know they put TVs in cars, right? That draws way more current than your MBP battery. Your regular adapter is rated somewhere between 12-15w. A 150w inverter will. Be more than enough to supply power to run and charge a MBP. The vehicles electrical system can also handle this. The only possible danger is the cable that plugs. Into the cigarette/12v socket can sometimes be quite thin and get warm. They also make inverters that attach with jumper style thick cables right to the vehicles battery.

Ciao.
Conversations stay on the internet forever, or at least until the owner deletes them. 18 months old but you still saw his comment. I'm just now reading this entire thread for the first time, so every comment regardless of time is still relevant to me.
Couldn't be bothered to post your own question eh?
Can't be very important to you then,
Why re-ask the same questions if the answers are already out there?
You can do what you choose. I've wasted enough time already.
Happy New Year.
I have the Rapid Charge Car Charger and it works great on my iPhone 5s and the few times I've charged my iPad in the car. I would be careful not to by anything that doesn't say it's Apple certified.
