I have installed OS X Lion (upgrade from Snow Leopard via the App Store) a long time ago (and made all the updates later). Now the App Store has started to list Lion as not installed. There is an option to download it and install (but there is no need of course).
Any idea? Does the App store not detect the current version?

That screenshot indicates that you have 10.7.3 installed. The latest build available is 11D50d, so it's saying there a newer version available. However, don't waste resource and time DLing from the MAS (it's the entire 3.5 GB version), but get the 10.7.3 COMBO update which contains the 11D50d build and is only(???) 1.36 GB in size.
If there's a newer version why doesn't Software Update report it?
It's Apple's way for some updates that had a small issue. That's one reason the delta update's no longer available.
If you don't like that, File a bug reportwith Apple.

Yes, it should allow Lion to DL, but it is written Install. There should be an option to reinstall, of course.

IIRC, the latest version installs 11D50d which is what you get from installing the latest 10.7.3 COMBO update. Since the latter is 1.3 GB, vs 3.5+ for the MAS version, install it and see if that changes the MAS indicator.
The App Store staus does not change with Combo Update and it does not change with App Store Install. Both ended in 11D50 (not 11D50d) in my case.
Definitely a bug or strange design.
Interesting, but I can't explain it. I'm in Snow Leopard at the moment, so can't check the Lion version. I'll try doing that later today and post back.
UPDATE: Sorry for the delay, but it was a hectic and wet weekend. Booted into Lion and About this Mac shows this after installing the 10.7.3 COMBO update. I can't explain the MAS issue, but since it's modeled on the iTunes store, anything's possible.
In the app store, mine now shows download rather than install, so I guess it's been fixed in the app store. yay
