How do I get the camera icon off of my home screen? (for the iphone 4s)

That was the previous method, since you have updated to iOS 5.1, the NEW method is to slide upwards.

Well there is NO way to remove it. It is not offending you so why worry about it. It's just a handy shortcut for people who want to take a quick photo without unlocking their phones.

Under the previous version of iOS, you had to double click the Home button from the lock screen to get the camera shortcut icon to appear on the lock screen. Now, you don't.

You seem to be spending a lot of time on something that you cannot change.

I support your option to do so. It simply does not seem very productive.

It's not the point wheather you like the icon showing up on the locked screen the point is once again these computer Geeks don't give you an option it's there way or the highway! Believe it or not some people do use the cell phone phone for talking to people not to take pictures for U Tube!

O\'Bie & Kailyn23 it's not a case of 'Geeks don't give you an option' it's a case of there is no way to remove it. Apple decided that they would make it a permanent feature of the latest iOS. Believe it or not they have locked some of the core features down so that you cannot remove them. This is to ensure that you don't screw up your device.

Oh and another thing don't start getting offensive and narky if the answer you have been given is not the answer you need. People have memories and if you need assistance in the future it is quite easy to ignore your requests
