Same issues here. After multiple resets, hard rests, reboots, restores, new passwords, friends accounts, and finally trying to sign up for a free trial, I've still had no luck getting Netflix to work on my Apple TV 3. Not sure what to do but wait for someone to fix.

I had the same problem, which happend after the update, after working on it for hours I found after changing the Apple tv resolution to 720hd Netflix is working again. I put it to 1080p I get the the netflix try again problem. Everything else works fine. Apple or Netflix Issue? Mind you that my tv is 1080p 480mhz so its not my tv!

Interesting. Thats the one thing I didn't do. Change ATV3 to 720p... Although its working now at 1080p I had never thought of changing it when it was down for a few days. Should have clicked in my head when my second Apple TV which is a ATV2 was working fine.

Mine stopped working after the update, as well, this is horrible, this always happens after an update but none of the usual tricks are making it work again

Mine began working as well after switching to 720p. Although now everything else isn't quite as clear as when it was on auto (1080p)

After all the circus antics we had to go through, I just gave up and let it be. A couple of days later, I got lucky and my ATV3 is working again at 1080p with Netflix. Whatever they did in the background fixed the problem.
I don't have ATV3 set to "auto". I have it specifically set to 1080p in the settings. Try turning off Auto and maually selecting 1080p and restart.

I spent at least an hour on this today, and the solution is simple enough, but not optimal
I switched mine to 720p and it works.
Switched back to auto (1080) and it stops working
Back to 720 and its working again.

I did the switch to the manual 1080p and it works fine now. Apparently there is an issue with the auto sensing selection. Works good on 720p as well.

Mine will not work on 1080p, whether auto or manual. It does work on 720p, though. Thanks, all!
BTW, before I started searching here, Netflix support did say it was an issue with the latest Apple sw release. They now have an "internal memo" about it, and are working with Apple to resolve.

Exactly the same problem—changed the resolution to 720 and it works. I read these posts as I was on the phone with apple support and the rep was surprised it worked. Supposedly it's Netflix's problem—it would be just be nice if apple and netflix would communicate that there is a problem to their consumers, and it looks like the remedy is bumping it down to 720.

Thank you for troubleshooting. Great call on the 720 vs. 1080 assessment. Can confirm mine (for whatever reason) will not work on a 1080 setting; must be specific to each person's television. Working on 720 (60 Hz). At least we've got it up and running - if not perfectly optimized - on the ATV. It would be awesome if the first person to notice when this is fixed lets the community know.

I just signed into the community this week and told everyone what I did to fix the issue. But the overall issue needs to resolve an apple firmware fix. however, yesterday my 1080p resolution is working suddenly. lets see how long it will last.

Thanks to doobies99 for the hint about changing the resolution! I have spent so much time trying to resolve this, and that finally worked! I'm amazed that someone figured that out. I was also able to manually set the resolution to 1280, which also worked...but not 1080. After this, I will definitely be reluctant to download any more ATV updates. I also have roku...never any problems with that. Although I am a big apple fan, they are losing points with me on this one.
