hello my iphone is stuck on vibrate and it wont turn off or on

The first step to recover is to power off your phone. And as the other user stated the phone cannot be turned off while it's vibrating and it is not being recognized by iTunes at all. It is as if you never plugged your phone in at all. No response by iTunes period. No repsonse to holding home and power buttons simultaneously either. I sure could use another strategy to try.
