Lion compatible eSATA card for Mac Pro mid 2010?

Hello,

I just ordered a G-Speed external Raid and would like to connect it to my mid 2010 Mac Pro. If I got it right, there are two free internal eSATA ports, which are not free anymore in my machine (optical drive + SSD boot drive). So I could not use a simple esata xtender solution and need a PCI-eSATA-card, right?

Do I need a "6G" card for best throughput? Several eSATA cards seemingly are not compatible to OS X Lion, so any suggestions would be very appreciated.

BTW: Does anybody have experience with this card: http://eshop.macsales.com/item/CalDigit/FASTA6GU3/

Having eSATA plus USB 3 would be nice.

For security reasons our office has gone back to Snow Leopard. However, for several weeks we were successfully using several eSATA cards with Lion.

I got this card at OWC. I am using on 2009 Mac Pro with OS 10.9.1. Every time I wake from sleep, my drives are disconnected. I don't want to have to keep my make awake all the time, so the card is going back to OWC.

You did not get it right.

Those "spare" SATA connectors last appeared on the 2008 model. In 2009 model and after, they were removed.
