Quicken 2007 for Lion is out but won't launch

I downloaded the 2007/Lion Quicken for Mac (just came out?). I am using Lion...

When I click on it is asks for my password then crashes, or just doesnt open.

Has anyone gotten it to work for them?

tried the usual stuff, reboot etc.

it's happening to me too, and apparently to lots of other people.

Shame on Intuit.

I did try to export the quote data alone (QIF) from SL 2007 and reimport it into Lion Quicken but it would not import ("too large"), and then when i trimmed it to almost nothing it was not recognized as a proper QIF file.

So I went ahead and trashed the (corrupted) Quotes file, and then it opened in Lion. THere were no Prices but all transactions were intact, and there were prices in the transactions, but they do not show up in Prices, only downloaded quotes or ones that you add manually.

I had 3 funds that do not have downloadable prices and I have been adding them manually off and on for years. Once you get it up and running again you can go back 5 years and download historical prices, but I have funds that go back 15 years. If I want to track my net worth (going back beyond 5 years) and there is no price in Prices, then the fund registers zero. So I went back and put in prices (i had saved all the prices from SL quicken 2007 as a pdf file since I wont have access to them forever) 2-3 per year for the missing years, and things are fine. As far as I can tell everything else works like before.

This one program is why I waited so long to go to Lion, over that hump.

Now i have to figure out how to get a couple websites and a few other things I used my iDisk for up and running, and iCloud...

still not sure what you are asking, you have to have lion compatible quicken to run quicken in Lion, but that is obvious by the name. Dont upgrade to Lion unless you are ready to upgrade $15 to Lion compatible Quicken, and then realize you may have to do what did to make it work in Lion (read the start of this thread), but I think you still may be asking something else, sry.

I too am having the crash on launch problem with Quicken-Lion. I've submitted crash logs and have been routinely checking their web site for a solution. This topic as gone oddly quiet in the last few days. Does anyone have any new information on a fix?

Early on, some people posted (I think on Quicken's Support Boards) that they had actually talked to Customer Support for Quicken on the phone. Does anyone know of a contact number?

Thanks,

Dan

I agree. Working fine on iMac 27 Lion. No crashes or issues. Great to be back- tried all the rest YNAB, IBank, Seefinance, etc - they all have major weaknesses mostly around year-based budget setting and Budget Summary reports.... a colour pie chart doesn't help in any way. Quicken's detailed Actual/Budget/difference reporting is still the best.
