How do I import a PDF to iBook author as an object and be able to read page by page

I'm just creating a sort of comic book from a load of PDF pages from the paper publisher.

I trimmed to as near iPad format as possible and have loaded them up a page at a time - 48 pages.

Its all working fine albeit each page takes 2 seconds or so to load. Each page is around 2Mb and I need high resolution for enlarging and possibly projecting.

The author is fine with the work but I'm not happy with the TOC as its difficult to link the contents to the TOC as there are no proper "Chapters" AND NO TEXT!

The PDFs loaded into iBA fine!

I found what I think is an easy way to put PDFs into your iBook...

1. Open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat

2. Save the PDF as a JPG (or other photo format), using the same name. Acrobat will save a series of individual JPG files, one for each page of the PDF, as an image.

3. Create a Gallery widget on the page in iBooks Author where you want to put the PDF.

4. Drag the image files onto the Gallery widget.

So far, I am up to the point of finishing placing my section breaks in Pages. Howver, when I opened the PDF, copied it, and pasted it into Pages, all of my photos show as negatives.

Any quick and dirty solutions on how to flip them all back to positives? I am ready to import it into IBA now. I would assume that I shouldn't have a great deal of trouble reversing them bac, but doing them all in one fell swoop would sure be much more efficient.
