Sort ON MY MAC Folders Alphabetically?

I would like to sort these folders in some kind of alphabetical order. i see that I can order these manually (not convenient) and I am not finding a good option in the View pulldown.

Anyone know how to do this?

Thanks

For an open folder press COMMAND-J, select Name from the Sort by: dropdown menu.

On thing I did, which worked out was the following:

- Crate a new mail folder ("Temporal"), move all folders from the messy one to the "Temporal" one.

- The folders were moved in alphabetical order.

- Erase the original folder and rename the "Temporal" with the right name.

This appears to work and now every time I create a new folder it is placed alphabetically.

So, there appears to be some sort of sequel left from previous mail versions...

As far as I can tell now it appears to work, of course, until the next untested and unprofessional OSX release that has been characterizing the Apple company for a while - closer and closer to Windows performance.

We should seriously consider Linux, more reliable and by far cheaper...

ach. anyone have any good alternatives to mac mail? i have about ten domain based emails, two google app specific password accounts and a icloud/me.com account and i am spending 90% of my troubleshooting efforts on mail.

i have moved to sparrow as a backup to make sure i am getting all my mail and i downloaded the GMail app for my phone but things still seem a bit wonky since i have to forward all my mail to GMail to have it show up in my GMail account and Sparrow does not accept signatures unless you pay for the paid version which is not going to be implemented since google bought out the company.

anyone gotten this all to work well by - for instance - forwarding all mail to google and handling it all in the google web interface?!

i hate to ditch HD based email client managers and i don't like the idea of not permanently archiving mail on a app on my HD but i have had it with this. i am about to pay someone /again/ to come over and straighten it all out for me since 12 accounts on 3 devices with oodles of settings and variables is going to make me keel over if i have to deal with it again.

ideas?

thanks. unfortunately i stopped using postbox also for reasons not worth getting into. or it is worth getting into but i don't want to waste more of my time. i will say that they slowly winnowed down support options/outlets, changed pricing structure with frequent paid updates, and released non-functional 'functionality' that the user had to discover didn't work. wouldn't mention it but their top level support was shockingly rude and disrespectful.

I do not have the Applications option in my Finder Window. I have an iMac. My choices are About Finder, Preferences, Empty Trash, Secure Empty Trash, Services, Hide Folder, Hide Others and Show All (which is grayed out). I have looked through each of these options and do not see Applications or anything else that would help me sort my mail folders alphabetically. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Michele
