Ipod display switched to black and white? No colour..

My ipod just randomly switched to a darker blueish with white font. It is a 5th gen 30gb ipod classic. Please help its annoying and i can't see my screen in the sunlight.

Not sure what happened, but have you tried to do a hard reset to see if that fixes the issue? To do this, first make sure the hold switch is in the Off position, then press and hold both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

Yea i tried that still no luck. When i do a hard reset the colour will come back for like a mili second and than go back to the faded black. Really annoying, i guess its time for a new pod

If a restore via iTunes doesn't resolve the issue either, then yes, it's probably time to start investing in a new iPod.
