No, it probably won't be fine. Coke is corrosive and sticky, and I expect your keyboard will be permanently affected even if the Coke didn't get any farther into the machine. If it did go farther, there's no telling how bad the damage might be. Get the machine in for service ASAP, and expect a large bill. If you had AppleCare, it won't cover this, and will be voided for all other purposes by the spill.

I would tell you not to panic. I have spilled everything from hot tea to wine on a Macbook keyboard in the past and the worst that has happened is that I needed to buy a wireless keyboard, which I ended up liking better anyway.

A friend who spilled an entire coke on her Macbook (OK, it was her cat's fault) left it open for about 2 days while waiting to get in to the Apple store. She closed it, took it in and they replaced it without even trying to start it (brand new, still under warranty). They asked her what she wanted to do with the old computer and she said another teacher at the school where she worked wanted it for parts, so they gave it to her and she handed it over to her friend. He opened it up, hit the power key and it turned right on. Keyboard worked fine--just needed a few days to dry out!!

nope... my daughter spilled sweet tea from behind (where I couldn't see) and by the time I noticed, it was too late. It looked like everything would be fine and that nothing had gotten inside. It turned out I had to take it in for a tier 4 out of warranty repair (the most expensive kind). They sent it off for a week to the depot, cleaned it, replaced literally everything inside except one stick of RAM and the hard drive and sent it back... Now it works like new (probably because it IS mostly new)...

Of course it will not be OK. I have delt with 3 MBP and one white MACBOOK. All had coffee spilt in them. Only one MBP survived but only after drying out for 2 months.

Thus, my advise.... turn it over annd let all fluid run out then let dry for a very long time. Then turn on, and it may work, but at least if i does not work, at least there will not be any fluid to short something out.
