Best iPad 3 Case

This is the closet one I have found to the iPad 1 folio case. I have been looking since March 16 for such a case. Unless something better is announced this week I will probably get this one.

Wow- This is absolutely the ONLY case mentioned in this entire thread so far that I think comes close to the original request (a case very similar to the iPad1 Apple case).

It fits my iPad3 perfectly. People complain about its lack of wake up/sleep function, however, I don't care much since I upgrade from iPad1. My only complain is its weight, it feels heavy. On the other hand, it is very solid.

On the amazon link, there was a guy who did a video review, that prompted my purchase.

gcubed - have you seen the pics for the iLuv OrigamiFolio? I have the iPad 1, 2, and "new", and my favorite case is the Apple case for the iPad 1. So far this is the closest I have seen to a Smart version for the new iPad.

It doesn't appear to have the broad cutouts on the sides like the other one. There is no mention of the surface texture on their site- is it smooth or rough? $89- ouch. Thanks for the info..

I have the same question about the texture and material. And thanks for pointing that out about the cutouts, I hadn't noticed that before. The OrigamiFolio description says "Maintains access to all inputs and controls" which is vague. (BTW - The OrigamiFolio actually sells for less than $89, it can be had for $79 if you are a first time buyer from iLuv, or $50 if you shop third party sites)

Sorry for asking this again, but I never got an answer to this. I want something that will be comfortable holding while commuting and standing. Speck says they are developing iPad3 cases, you can sign up on their website to be on the notification list for new releases. If you really like the Speck line, I'd buy a cheap case (like the Snugg, I'm using a spare one from work until my Seidio Active arrives next week) to hold you over until the Speck comes out.

There are even a few slightly cheaper than the Snugg Right here

The new iPad is my first iPad. I have iphone and other apple stuff. Anyway, I have been looking online for the past few days at cases. Mostly I see the folio style cases. I dont think I would like those. I am thinking just a hard shell backing maybe even just a sleeve type. Maybe I am just used to the iphone, but I dont think I want to have to worry about removing a "smart cover (or other) and fold it to the back or put it back on.. I just dont think i need that??!?!? What do you guys think? (BTW I do have a screen protector)
