I don't have VPC on my computer. I have never installed it. I wonder if there are some hidden files somewhere that I don't see. I tried searching and nothing related appears.
Oh yes, lots of hidden files... seems somebody has installed VPC at one time.
Here's the locations of the files I found, there may be more...
I used Find Any File to find these...
So do I just delete everything that is related to Virtual PC, reboot and hope that it fixes the problem? Can I select the file within "Find Any File" and delete? Or do I have to located it and delete it from its location?
Yes, in FAF, right click on it & you'll have choices like Move to Trash, Delete immediately.
Might first search for Install.log & see if there's a more detailed list of files.
Unfortunetly, no such luck. Still the same symptoms after deleting the files.
I am only noticing issues with Microsoft Word, Text Edit, and my printer. Should I just delete these programs and reinstall and see what happens? Maybe I have some corrupted fonts on my computer. Is this a possiblity?
I noticed this earlier from Console. Not sure what to take from it.

I've seen that garbage before.
Drove me nuts trying to fix it.
I found it easiest to reinstall the OS.
Will I lose everything it I reinstall the OS?
Couple of things to try...
Reapply the 1058 Combo Update, 10.5.8...
http://support.apple.com/downloads/Mac_OS_X_10_5_8_Combo_Update
If all the above fails, then it appears to be time for a relatively painless Archive & Install, which gives you a new/old OS, but can preserve all your files, pics, music, settings, etc., as long as you have plenty of free disk space and no Disk corruption, and is relatively quick & painless...

Just be sure to select Preserve Users & Settings.
Well I tried to reapply the 10.5.8 update and upon completion my computer did not boot up. So i restarted in
Safe Mode and i got the BBOD when I selected which user to load up with. I eventually was able to boot up but things are not very good I'd say. I am going to buy an external drive tomorrow to back everything up and reinstall the OS. Is this what I am left to do? I appreciate all the help. I hope soon I can tell you everything is working great.
What store bought external drive is recommended?
Yes, great idea, but for a PowerMac make sure the external is a Firewire drive so we can boot from it.
I was thinking to use the external to back everything up and reinstall the OS on my internal drive. But you recommend to install the OS on the external and make it bootable? What should I do with the internal?
The comment regarding the external being bootable is in reference to the fact that the best backup is a bootable backup.
Creating a clone backup which one can also boot to is one of the best backups.
PPC Macs boot to firewire more reliably than USB, thus the comment.
Go ahead and backup to an external (any backup is better than none, bootable or not) so that you can proceed with reinstall on the internal drive.
The internal is always the first boot source of choice.
Makes sense. Thanks for the explanation.
Does it matter to use FW 400 or FW 800?
Is Western Digital better than Seagate?
FW800 is better, but FW400 will work.
While WD drives are great, you do not want an enclosure by either one of them.

I have been getting a lot of these in console. Any idea if it is contributing to the problems I am having?
