Remove camera from lockscreen iPhone 4
I would like to remove my camera from the lock screen. I went to settings and I don't see an option to turn this off. Does anyone know how to do this? I have already updated to the new ios5.1 software

No, it is not possible to remove the camera button from the lock screen.
I'm afraid you can't without disabling the camera altogether in restrictions.
this is a pity. my son keeps taking hundreds of photos when my back is turned. This was funny at first by tires quickly!
As I said, the only way is to disable the camera altogether in Restrictions, if you wanted to use the camera again, you would need to go back into Restrictions and enable it. That is your only option at present to prevent your Son from taking photo's. You can also send your feedback directly to Apple using this link if you would prefer http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

Try putting the phone where your son and other small children can't reach it! It's not a toy.
It sure is a toy! And a great baby sitter too. When a 3 year old can use it effortlessly you know it's a great bit of tech
I'm tired of people saying, "Just put your phone out of reach of your child!" Well, you know what? if I want to be able to use my phone without climbing on the furniture myself to get at my phone, I cannot put it out of reach of my child. She gets taller every day, she can get at things on the table and counter and she is a very good climber. I am not going to put my phone on top of a tall bookcase because Apple decided that there were lazy people around that would like to use their camera without unlocking their phone and now I'm paying for it! It's a stupid feature and it should be optional! I was not warned about this vulnerability when I was told there was a software update. And now I have to hide my phone so my daughter cannot take pictures?
I'm really hoping this bug gets fixed for the next software update. Heck, I think they should have an emergency update to disable this vulnerability.
Try apporpriate consquences when your daughter disobeys you. Let me tell you, putting the car out of reach is going to be a real problem if she doesn't learn to leave other people's belongings alone unless she has permission. If you can't set limits for a toddler, you may as well resign yourself to teenage years from hades.
First of all it isn't and bug. A software bug is the common term used to describe an error, flaw, mistake, failure, or fault in a computer program or system that produces an incorrect or unexpected result, or causes it to behave in unintended ways.
Where do you put your car keys? Does you daughter grab hot pots off the the stove?
How I discipline my daughter and how I don't is not part of this discussion. It was wrong of apple to force this new "feature" on everyone without giving us an option to disable it. What you call a feature I will very gladly call a design flaw. And as a QA engineer, a design flaw is as bad or worse than a bug! It would be a great feature, if the people that don't want it could disable it, until then, it's a vulnerability and a bad design.
This is not a bug, since it works as Apple intended. If you feel it should work differently, tell Apple, not us. You've already been given a link to the Feedback page, but maybe repetition of instruction is in order for you too.
