Hey everyone. Can I ask whether your iPhone/iPad's see the network, but won't actually connect and come up with a message of some sort? I forget what it is now. For a few weeks now I have been having that particular issue with my girlfriend's iPhone 4 and as it has been driving me crazy, ever since that stupid update. But I sorted the problem tonight.

This is what I did -

Firstly, I only have a standard Sky issued Sagem Router, so options may vary for different routers.

*Typed in IP Address to access router which was 192.168.0.1 for me

*Typed Username "Admin" and Password "Sky"

*Go to "Setup" tab and scroll down to "Wireless Station Access List" and clicked on "Setup Access List"

*Scroll down to "Add New Station Manually" and input a Device Name i.e. iPhone/iPad with no spaces in the name

*Now in the MAC address you want to basically input your phone's MAC address including : which is found in "Settings", "General" and "About." Scroll down and find "Wi-Fi Address" and type that into the column on the router.

*Once thats done, click "Add."

You will see your phone's Device Name and MAC Address in the "Trusted Wireless Stations" section above. In order for it to work, you must tick the "Turn Access Control On" box on.

After that click "Apply" and it should all be working and stable (well it did for me!!)

Note: Any other paired devices may lose connection to Wi-Fi once "Turn Access Control On" is switched on, but all you have to do is find their MAC Addresses and apply them to the trusted zone, just like you did for your iPhone/iPad.

For other routers, hopefully similar options are accessible for you. Give it a shot and hope it helps.

Hi All,

I have exactly the same issue since a few days. Bought my iPhone 4S a few weeks ago, worked great, but it started with sometimes not finding any wifi network (after upgrade to 5.1.1) , while they were several present (as found by my iPAD). I resetted the phone, reset network settings, put in flight mode and back, etc etc, but wifi is not working at all anymore since today.

In "about"I do see a wifi address, modem firmware 2.0.12

I am using the latest IOS 5.1.1 (9B206).

Hope somebody can shed some light on this issue.

Robert

i have the same problem with my six-month old 4s and it started about three weeks ago. although sometimes my phone just restarts by itself and then when it's on again it finds a wi-fi network. after a few hours, it disconnects and can't find any networks again. i know it's not my home wi-fi because my kindle and my macbook can connect to the network so it has to be the phone. i did everything you did and i can't seem to find a fix for it.

i haven't updated to iOS6 yet because i hear it's got bigger problems than 5.1.1 so i have to work from two different devices now (both my iPhone and my tablet), which is a huge inconvenience.

i hope Apple answers this issue very soon.
