I started having this problem last evening with downloading 3 apps, all were WAITING.

I did a sync and deleted the apps and then reloaded them and they reloaded okay. Shortly after that I had one update and when I tried to update the app, it stuck on WAITING again.

I did a restore and tried downloading a new app and it did not load- WAITING.

I have no music on this iPad2, no Podcasts, no movies, so something is making my apps "hang" in WAITING mode. I did not have this problem prior to the new OS...

Any help would be appreciated.

I've had the same problem upgrading from 4s->5. The reset and restore from iCloud is what worked for me except the key was to NOT PLUG THE PHONE INTO MY COMPUTER.

If I had the phone plugged into the computer anytime during the restore and before all the apps were downloaded it would automatically start syncing the phone and trying to install apps from the computer backup and get hung up at the end of the sync. After this none of the apps would download and would show the "waitin..." I'm guessing this is because the apps on my computer are out of date or something and don't give the latest version like the restore from iCloud does.

So, try the restore from iCloud and do not plug into your computer until all apps have been downloaded.

So I didn't want to do this whole restore whatever deal

So I decided to go the easiest route for trouble shooting and it worked 🙂

I was doing a restore from ITunes backup on a new Iphone 6s and was getting all my apps WAITING

I decided to go to app world and do updates on the apps they suggested needed it

First it was 6 apps

Went through those

and then got 3 more then 2 etc

After it updated all of them that needed updating

The rest did quickly 🙂

It took a few hours but was so much easier then all the restore, wipe, back up crap

Just took patience but was very easy to see progress thru app world as it updated everything

A few I had to update more than once

Hope this helps 🙂

Finally I found it, I was facing the worst case of App stucking in waiting mode and I try many ways to solve this (deleting, deleting from iTunes, restarting , DFU mode) and nothing work.

One day, yes one day I decided to macke a backup for my iPhone and I start normally with (Transfer Purchases App from "iPhone") then i found the iTunes start only with the stucked apps, one by one download and delete.

Finally now I have an working, opening, normal Youtube App.

Why is all my apps in "waiting" mode
