Late 2008 MacBook Pro is stuck a lot lately

The cursor stops responding for up to minute (without changing to a "beach ball"), lots of "beach balls", delays in typing/deleting, even delays when using arrows. Restarting helped (though it didn't shut down properly), but the problem is back. I'm on 10.7.3, using Safari, but the problem is across apps. I have very little else open at the same time.

Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

I'm having this exact same problem. 2008 MBP. Same "clear hardlink bit" error that is filling up my log files. Disk Utility can't repair. I've resintalled Lion and restored from my time machine backup five times already. I'm ok for a couple of days, but then the same set of errors start happening all over again. I wasn't having this issue until Lion. Is this a Lion problem?

I'm not sure of the problem, but I ended up restoring just my home folder and I've been good for 2 weeks now. I have no idea which data was to blame, so it's not much help, but you might want to get an Apple Care rep to walk you through only bringing back only the stuff you need (most of the library files didn't get restored). Aside from having to reinstall software, I have everything else I need and I'm good so far.

Good luck!
