iTunes Keeps Copying The Same Music Every Sync

As of iTunes 10.6, iTunes has been having strange syncing issues with my iPhone. I had to delete all my backups (it said that they were corrupted), and every time I sync, I have to wait for it to re-copy the same 54 songs. The songs are weirdly chosen: some of the Halo soundtracks, plus one Glee song. As far as I can tell, the songs share nothing in common (no playlist, I haven't been listening to them, etc). They remain on the iPhone after a sync, they're there, but whenever I try to sync, they re-copy.

Ideas?

I have this problem as well. I think it has to do with the 'testing' of your library for unauthorized music. I.E. music not purchased from iTunes. I could be wrong about this, but it seems to follow some of the songs that I see resyncing. Funny, Steve Jobs started out his career creating a device that would steal long distance from AT&T and then became obsessed with anyone he suspected of stealing from him 🙂 I still love you Steve, but you know this is true. That said, you remain the most amazing guy to come along in a long long while !

I was trying to figure out why my OTHER on my iPhone is up to 17GB. iTunes keeps recopying the files made with the Voice Memos app, and my last sync OTHER increased from 17 to 17.1 GB. Off course the Voice Memo files are MONO files, because the iPhone only has one Mic and one speaker (for recording that is).

Anyone else having this problem have an oversize OTHER section (in yellow) on your iPhone?

Same thing is happening to me. It copies about 1500 songs every time I sync, which is pretty annoying. It never used to do that. I'm really hoping Apple will fix this in an iTunes (or iOS) update. I'm really busy, especially this month, I don't have time to go troubleshooting this. If it means I don't have to mess with it, I'd like to see a fix, even if it takes a month or two. That's why I quit using Windows and switched to Mac a decade ago - I wanted to spend my time using my computer, not fixing it. Anyway, much oblidged, Apple, if you can fix this issue at some point.

I too have this issue. Mine copies 552 songs every time. It's annoying. Will try to get to the bottom of it; don't know what I will find out...

My problem ended up being a Smart-Playlist. I removed it and my problem has been solved, it was a duplicate smart playlist I had created and had selected. While it was of 577 songs therefore I would expect I'd copy 577 songs each time, but it was 552; strange.

I solved this on my computer.

The database was corrupted. Which happened when I had found songs at a location and the information wasn't being written to the id3 tag but was apart of the database. Meaning the song copied to the phone was different than that of what the database had.

To fix this I deleted the songs from my itunes library and re imported them manually. d

Then restarted the phone and synced. Ran another sync and problem was gone.
