You need me to say it for the 17th time?  I've invited you to come to my two local stores and talk to them yourself and feel all the iPads.  It's not like you've got anything better to do with your time.

My iPad was under my pillow, it got so hot that I couldn't even touch it, I had to wait about 10 mins before it cooled down

I am not exaggarating that my iPad new was getting heated up all over and it was wet at the apple black sign before I gave it to service center. But now it is getting heated up at left side up to middle of the device. Now, after comparison it is getting heated up slightly lower than the earlier time but in both situations it is not warm, in any condition it is not warm. It is hot. What to do I don't know, the heat is so much that it has damaged the look of my leather smart cover, fortunately it is black to disguise the wounds it has received from the heat. First time, I gave it to service center and they said, it is alright. I am slowly loosing faith in Apple. Now I want to send it to Apple Center at California but no help is available and therefore I am forced to follow the routine procedure of showing it first to the service center again.

And how, exactly, did you expect the iPad to stay cool with NO VENTILATION? Under your pillow? Really?  Completely covered and smothered by a pillow? And you think it has a problem? It's you who has the problem I'm pretty sure.

You say it was "wet." How did it get wet? Use some common sense man.

Moist heat is said to be very therapeutic, but sadly the iPad is not designed for this purpose

Even with zero ventilation, a properly-functioning iPad would shut itself down before it was too hot to touch- or needed 10 minutes to cool down.

    I'm being facetious here, but...

That is where you went wrong, you can't share your thoughts here or anywhere in the Apple universe without receiving an unnecessarily defensive response from the self-hypnotized Apple dumpling gang.  As long as you keep your thoughts and criticisms aimed at the competition I think they'll stay quiet, but it's hard to make sense when dealing with the senseless.

    I appreciated your thoughts, BTW.

I have had my iPad 3 64/4G for about three weeks now and I am loving it. I'm a heavy user, and only use about 50% brightness with auto-brightness off. Sure my iPad gets hot while playing graphic intensive games, but this is what I would expect from such a slim and compact, yet powerfull machine. There's no cooling system so the heat still has to go somewhere.

Or course there is going to be some faulty iPad 3's, considering how many million units were made and sold to this day. It's inevitable. So there might be 1% of all iPad 3's sold that are faulty, which would still be a few thousand, at least.

Sorry to the people that are having an overheating issue, it's unfair paying good money and getting something unexpectedly faulty.

I have a new iPad as well.  So far the only thing that gets hot is the power unit when recharging the device.

I fix the heating problem, I turned off the Ipad and it stopped heating up. It has not heated up at all for 8 days now. Wa-lah, problem solved!
