Just got my new iPad. I'm loving the screen and speed but there's something weird about it. It gets rather warm/hot after 30minutes of usage. It has never happened on my iPad 2.
Do you think it's harmless or .... ?

People: make sure you include info about which iPad you have. LTE? Wifi only? Details matter. And, really now, "frying eggs?"
If it's still under warranty, yes. If not under warranty, no. Not really that complicated.
Yes, you can in or out of warranty, just have to pay out of warranty fee, since screen cracks are not covered anyway.
Even completely functional devices can fail unexpectedly, so I would hope any GA pilot using Foreflight for navigation has the appropriate paper sectionals as backup…
Update your iPad to iOS 6 to stop overheating issues.. Apple specifically update iOS to reconfigure iOS devices for Optimal Performance and to fix any bug issues in previous versions of iOS etc..
I'm currently on v6.1.3, but to be honest I'm not sure that I was on v6 when I experienced the heating issue. Thanks for the tip.
and forgot to say,,, after the tempurature screen goes off., my ipad hang till 10 mins,,, i mean while im using it.
UMm we have a wifi version and one time even when not in use it got hot also the egg cooking thing is not a joke!
Also has the same thing battery and overheat
MY IPad Air gets hot on the back warmer towards the bottom.
