Macounette,
Merci votre réponse m'a aidé
I have used the free Dragon Dictation app on iPad 1 with good results. Not nearly as convenient as having the microphone icon available whenever the keyboard pops up, but it does the job, if you want to dictate a note instead of typing it.
Unfortunately the Dragon Dictate app only works in English so that will not help Macounettewho is looking for a Swiss language solution. However what it is more unfortunate that it doesn't handle English very well either!

But only the standard French keyboard is supported. I cannot use that.
Can you perhaps use the standard French keyboard if you set it to qwertz instead of azerty?

Is that correct? The page says it supports various other languages:

In Switzerland one would normally want to dictate in either French, German, or Italian.
How can I do that? Keyboard language and keyboard layout are linked, no?
Thanks for replying all the same :)

Do you want to dictate in French?
Why exactly is using the French keyboard a problem for you? If you think it has to be azerty, that is wrong, you can select a French qwertz keyboard, if that is what you are used to.
@Tom Gewecke. The URL you used is for "Dragon for Salesorce" which requiress being logged into a Saleforce account according to the description. I am not familiar with that app and canot comment on it.
The Dragon Dictation app says app says languages "English, Arabic, C..." I do not speak Arabic and I do not know with absolute certaintainy what language "C..." is referring to however, when I tried French the result was complete gibbersh. Dictating "Ce produit a des problèmes." using the Dragon dictate app while speaking slowly and annunciating clearly came up with this result: "Superduper Ideus for ages". A second try came up with "I'm just in place pregnant." and a third try resulted in Supri do half pays Prenda."
Perhaps I am naïve to expect Nuance Communications to freely give away a piece of software which costs $149 for the PC version and $199 for the Mac version. (see: http://tinyurl.com/87qe2f2) The "home version" is less selling for $75 at the Nuance Communication website.
Perhaps as you wrote, "In Switzerland one would normally want to dictate in either French, Germsan or Italian." however, "Macounette" the user in Switzterland wrote that he wanted to use it for the Swiss language.
@Tom Gewecke I forgot to mention I only tried the AZERTY keyboard. Perhaps it works with the other French keyboards? Have you tired it? It's unfortunate that there is no Swiss French or Swiss Standard German. They might work.

No, he said he wanted to use the French (Switzerland) keyboard layout, which is just a special layout designed for typing French or German in that country. There is no such thing as the "Swiss" language.
@ Tom Gewecke See message above regarding my using only the AZERTY keyboard and asking if you tried others. As you can see, it refers to using Swiss French and Swiss Standard German which are indeed Swiss.

Is something wrong with your browser? The url I posted is
http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/dragon-dictation/id341446764?mt=8
The url for Dragon for Salesforce is totally different:
http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/dragon-for-salesforce/id457888286?mt=8

Are you referring to keyboard layouts? There are definitely layouts provided for French (Switzerland) and German (Switzerland).
Maybe I'm misunderstanding the problem, but I reckon that to dictate in French using Dragon is a question of changing the settings rather than (or as well as) the keyboard - although I agree that with most apps changing the keyboard means that predicative spelling is turned on. I am English but live in France, so I'm constantly switching between the two keyboard.
If osxxp looks in the (rather unhelpful) symbol top right - an arrow pointing down onto a line - he will find Settings. And there he can choose French (European or Canadian - no Swiss or Belgian French, I'm afraid).
The sentence 'I want to see the film this evening' spoken in French before changing the settings came out as:
You the Boisson a few Sisler
After changing the settings it became
Je veux voir le film ce soir

But the language is not "Swiss", it is either French or German.
