The New iPad will not sync all photo's

I picked up the new iPad yesterday at the Apple store and am having a problem getting it to sync all of my photo library.

Im using iTunes on Windows 7 to sync the "My Pictures" folder to the iPad.

It will sync some but not all of the folders in the "My Pictures". I have deleted the "iPod Photo Cache" folder, that did not help.

I have 2 iPhones and 2 older iPad 1's which sync the photo's just fine.

Whilst I'm as frustrated as the next person why do a lot of people just assume Apple is doing nothing? It doesn't make sense to me that Apple would ignore an issue with their software, especially one so widespread. Perhaps they are just finding it very difficult to fix, especially considering the number of Apple devices that now have to run off iTunes. It would make sense now for Apple to focus on upgrading iTunes only for the more current products, leaving the older products to continue to use the old software (once fixed). This would make more sense than a seperate iTunes for each device IMO. This would create its own issues syncing libraries across all your different iTunes if you have numerous devices like I do.

The easy way to provide a short term fix surely is to make iTunes recognise an iPad 3 as an iPad 2 for syncing photos and use whatever photo file maipulation/resolution it uses for iPad2. That way at least we could still use iTunes to sync all our apple devices seamlessly.

Then they could take their time with a more appropriate fix that would allow us to take advantage of the better screen resoilution.

Seems obvious to me!!

That's fine for you. But for those of us that it doesn't work for it isn't much use at all.

BTW: Have you tried adding further folders later or syncing what you have now with an iPhone or an older iPad. I got 2,000 pictures on my iPad3 at one point. It wouldn't then sync properly with my older iPad or iPhone. So the song and dance you have to go to to get photos onto iPad3 at the moment is not a solution at all for the overall "system" problem.

I think you will find that a proper solution may be some way off....I hope I'm proved wrong though.

I didn't realise the one folder sync didn't work for everyone. But this is the trouble, if Apple were to do a temorary fix it wouldn't suit everyone. Therefore the only feasable solution is one that fixes all of the problems. Hopefully it won't be too far away as I believe it's an iTunes problem and so has been around since the update.

My iPad 3 doesn't affect the way my iPhone synced, but iTunes does. I've had sync issues with my iPhone before I bought the iPad, and since the update to iTunes. Whilst all the photos transfer across to the iPhone all the photos are mixed up if I transfer them al across in one go. The one folder at a time works for the iPhone too, for me at least. Syncing new folders on either device is OK as long as I just do one at a time.
