Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
Anyone know the resolution of this camera in the back? Apple doesnt seem to list this spec. This camera seems very grainy with poor resolution.. Is it just 640x480 ? or 1MP, 2MP?
On an aside, this "new iPad," (I just dont know why Apple didnt give it a proper name as in "iPad 3" or whatever)... so when the next iPad comes out, will it be called "the newer iPad" or "newest iPad?").. Geez.... Apple needs a "naming department." (heh)..

Not to be rude by i think most of your questions & comments on the naming convention are a lil' irrelevant and actually without posting any judgement reflects the ideas and POV of a "non-Apple fan/user" and a slightly "slowed-down" dude!! I mean all Apple products for God sake are extremely easy to differenciate without much effort...as an example after iOS6 the New iPad can simply be identified by a series of "names", "hints", or "IDs" such as "THE ONE WITH SIRI", or "THE ONE WITH A BETTER CAMERA/RESOLUTION", or "THE SLIGHLY HEAVIER ONE" ....a process that can also be simply adapted to OSX products too ....and that is why we LOVE Apple...every newer version brings along usually "MORE THAN 200" features....you should be able to differentiate with this many features....Last but not least...if you're an Apple fan..then you'll surely be fine with whichever name they chose ....and in case you're not then don't worry about the names confusing you...or just do like everyone else and call it what you like...like "iPad3" in this case....or "iPad HD"...wtv floats your boat! And to answer you original question ....(which I have to do just to formely reply to the original post) ...the iPad 2 camera's is of .96MP --1.0MP, which was great as far as having 2 cameras for a second GEN product that was replacing a 1rst one which lacked any camera whatsoever...and now with the "New iPad's" amazing 5MP camera with quasi SLR technology.....I think this (iPad 3 camera) will be the worst camera to ever be seen on an Apple slate.!
Well, you'd be suprised that I probably have MORE Apple products (eg, older Macs) than you do.
Sure, I know I'm nit-picking about the naming, but my point is... why can't Apple give their products unique names and/or product numbers like they did in the past.
Sure I like Apple products, but that doesnt mean I have to agree with EVERYTHING they do or make.
Heck, their "next" version of iPad could just be called "the newest iPad." Yeah, that would be a cool name... One person has the "new iPad" and the another person as "newest iPad." Nothing confusing about that, eh?
Why bother with any model family names either? All their Macs should just be named, "Mac." and you differentiate them by saying, "Mac with flat panel 1.7GHz" or "Mac with big tower and cheese grater front end and 2 drives."
I'd like to think this forum is open to disagreements among its members and not just one for "pro-Apple" statements only.
