Poor wifi reception on new iPad

Joining the crowd. Have tried to make a WiFi connection with my new iPad (deliver 3/16) in two different locations with routers. No luck. Signals apparently far too weak.

I think you're all just holding it wrong

It would be nice to see some replies here of people who are not experiencing this problem, so if you have both Ipad 2 and the new one, and the signal is equally strong on both, let us know! 🙂

I haven't noticed an issue at all. I have a White 32gb wifi. I'm going to compare speeds when I get home tonight.

I have both the iPad 2 and the New iPad and ever since I reset my network settings as I stated in my post earlier I am back to seeing normal speeds on my new iPad. Give it a try and see how it works out for you.

To be honest I don't have the new ipad yet 😉 I am going to get it, but would be nice to know if it really affects all devices or not...

In contrast with most of these reports, my new iPad has the same wi-fi performance as my iPad2. No issues at all with reception which appears normal.

I am seeing the same issues from my new ipad. I actually changed my router and bought the Airport Extreme thinking my crappy linksys was the problem... Nope its my crappy signal reception on my NEW iPad!!!

I've done the samething and Im still having no luck.

No problems with WiFi on my new iPad. The signal strength is the same as the previous iPad.

I have noticed this issue but did not think actually compare this until I read the news. It is super slow compare to my iPad 2 on my home WiFi. Apple this is unacceptable. I purchased my new iPad only 2 days ago. This needs to get fixed.

Is this complaint real?

I currently have an iPad 1 that I use as a remote control for my Macs using the remote desktop app iTeleport. This thing has the weakest wi-fi radio I've ever used and I had to beef up my router and use a booster and large antenna to get the performance I needed. This was somewhat unexpected but likely reasonable for what I'm trying to do with this thing (remote desktop is a lot of data).

I was thinking it was maybe time for an upgrade... but not if the wi-fi radio is actually smaller/weaker on the new model. (This is my number 1 feature. Likely out of the mainstream audience. I passed on the iPad 2 when it was disclosed that it had the exact same radio installed.)

Is this accusation real of just folks who forgot how set their network preferences going thru the a learning curve again with the new model?

Replaced an iPad1 (16 GB, Wi-fi) with an iPad3 (64 GB, Wi-Fi+4G). I've had no issues with wifi signals. In fact, I'd say the reception I have at work has actually improved.
