can't sign in to youtube app on iPhone

Hi steve ok I did what you said, up to click on settings, but I dont see moble set up, so I am stuck here.but next to my email is a message saying create a channel advance their its says to create a you tube user name and channel, I am almost there but i need to see that moble set up, please help. David

After reading the entire thread and few hours of frustration, the follwing works consistently with two different accounts.

1) On IPhone safari open http://m.youtube.com

2) Sign in with your google account

3) open the dotted menu on top right of the page(which looks like a menu screen)

4) This will take you to the youtube icon menu

5) select favorite

6) This will take you to the page where you agree to you tube terms and usage

7) Once you press agree(or something like that- don't remember the exact message)

You are all set. Youtube app sign in will work now!!

They must have changed it cos I now don't see a mobile setup button where there was one previously. I would say to create that youtube username then try and sign into the app with that username and your account password. Let me know if you can get into the app after creating the username

Hi I tried the 2 step process and I'm still not able to access you tube and my gmail apps. I entered the code in the yellow where you enter password but doesn't work.

Anyone have any solution?

that worked for me. thx a lot!

sign into youtube on your computer. click the arrow next to your name and it will show an option "youtube settings". like most people you probably linked your google/youtube account. there will be an option to revert to username where you will either have to create one or it will return to the previous youtube username. you will then be able to sign in on your phone. i just got the iphone 4s 2 days ago and figured this out and is working perfectly now. hope this helps everyone.

I don't know about David, but it does not work for me. I am beyond give out. My google account username is my aol email address. Same as I use on my iPhone. Nothing has worked. Bother...
