Is it possible to remain signed in?
I seem to have to repeatedly sign in even if I have been using apple communities just 10 minutes earlier - is there a way to remail signed in?

Yes indeed. Unless you are closing Safari (or whatever browser you got here with) you should remain signed in.
Hello Klaus (and LeonieDF),
Using Safari 5.1.4 (6534.54.16, whatever that means) my sign in panel and password panels are yellow tinged. Moreover, and another recent development, the password panel shows an indecipherable set of characters which changes to the anonymous ............ dots when I click to sign in. None of this is a nuisance, simply the constant signing in. Oddly enough, when using firefox to bring up Community Support, those same panels are white and the indecipherable characters are not there.
The yellow sign-in fields are a 'feature' - they appear on other login pages as well, e.g. British Gas. The odd characters which sometimes appear for a moment appear to be a minor bug. FireFox of course renders these pages in its own way.
Hi again! I have now uninstalled Safari 5.1.4 and installed 5.0.5. I have signed in some hours ago and now I don't have to sign in again when I wake up my computer from a well deserved rest. So the constant sign out had to do with 5.1.4 in my case.
The yellow pannels, im pretty sure, are the autofill feature of Safari at work. They automatically fill the form with information from your Adress Book, Keychain (for usernames and passowrds), etc. but color it yellow so you know it was filled by Safari and give it a look before sending it in. It can be turned off and on in Preferences > Autofill.
Well, the yellow fields aren't a problem, just an observation.
I hope the community will forgive me resurrecting this one but I have come across a curiosity and wonder if there is an explanation.
If I go to Firefox > Apple Support > Communities > and Log in ... I STAY logged in until I actually QUIT Firefox and not just move to some other browser page. I can carry on as logged in for a couple of days when I haven't formally quit. Indeed, it could be more as I haven't tried a longer period.
But,
If I go to Safari > Apple Support > Communities > and Log in ... I not only have to sign in again if I quit Safari but also (after a few minutes) if I move around other browser pages WITHOUT quitting Safari.
So it appears that the answer is YES if you log in from Firefox ... and NO if you log in from Safari.
I would have thought that Apple would have preferred it the other way round.
seventy one - If you read one of my post above you'll see it seems to have to do witch version of Safari you use.
Yes, I did notice, indeed I always look out for your contributions. I haven't got round to changing my Safari version yet ... that is, if I ever do.
I suppose I'll just have to fire off some feedback; after all, what's the point of upgrading to a lower standard of performance ... they've had long enough to sort it out.
Well, which version have you? If you haven't save an earlier version it will be a little tricky to downgrade Safari
I have 5.1.4. It seems fine otherwise. (Incidentally, I had to sign again to answer; he he he.) To be honest, fruholda, it's not the greatest drama in the world, just a nuisance and not at all Apple-like.
