Basically, I just finished my thesis and I'm planning on color correcting it with Color. I've been editing with ProRes 422 (HQ) do you guys recommend I relink my footage to RAW files (from camera) and then Color or just stick with ProRes. Will I face problems, etc....GO!

What camera? ProRes HQ is perfectly fine for finishing. I use it all the time. And I'll wager that, unless your camera is the RED camera, it will be far better to grade that then the "raw."
We shot on a 7D. Either way is fine then right? Cause my colorist has the raw files and he's coloring those, but I was just wondering if I should have him do the prores in stead.
Those files...H.264...are HIGHLY compressed, and will not handle color grading as well as ProRes will. HQ, in this case, is way overkill...but if they already are in that format, fine. But ProRes is 10-bit...allows for more "pushing and pulling" of the colors and the lights and darks. H.264 is 8-bit, highly compressed. Things will fall apart quickly when grading that native.
What are they grading with? Color won't accept these files, and if you try to use them natively in FCP, you'll be in for a world of hurt when trying to export.
We're using Color. So i should have him color grade the ProRes compressed files, right? We had relinked to the RAW files and went into color, just fine, btw. But you're right, exporting later will be bad
Color correct the ProRes. You can push things better with that 10-bit format opposed to the 8-bit H.264 originals you sent. And just wait until you try to render that H.264...they don't always cooperate.
