Just bought iPad 3, need info on CF card reader?

Just ordered the new version of the CF reader "all in one" from M.I.C. at the saem link refrred to above:

seems that the just CF only reader has been discontinued and replaced with this "all in one" reader that also reades other card type. this could come in handy if I am not shooting with my 7D or a friend is using a consumer grade camera with an SD or other card. I have read up on this and it looks like others have confirmed as well as the manufacturer that this does work with the Ipad 3 (or whatever its called.... "new ipad", "ipad2.1", etc...). I will post back when I get it and try it out. I paid the extra money for the 7-10 business days shipping from hong kong. Total was around $55 US. Ill check back in when I have a chance to use it. As far as supporting future apple updates...????????? who knows. After the BS I jsut went through with Apple TV and homesharing problems over wifi I have little faith in apple. They are turning into microsoft as far as product support and fixing glithces in a timely manner. Looks like this company is keeping up with the trends though (M.I.C.). If they already made an adaptor for the ipad 3 I would assume that they will keep supporting their product (Im working on being an optimist). Best of luck to everyone.

Just got the all in one card reader from the M.I.C. site referred to above. It comes from hong kong but with the extra money for express shipping it got here pretty quick. I ordered it Memorial day May 28th and it was here today, saturday June 2nd. Way faster then the expected time. It works great and fast. I tested it with my CF card, an SD card, and a mini SD card and all were flawless. I am using this with the ipad 3 and there are no issues. This is a great addition for when shooting with my 7d on location. I have a 64gb ipad 3 and I utilize the icloud so my ipad is even at half capacity. Not that I would, but I could technically shoot my whole 32gb card, dump it on my ipad and then shoot it again with out having ot use a computer... Awesome!. It transfers both jpeg and raw no problem. It also lets you choose which to import and which to delete. This little gadget makes life easier and in my opinion replaces those expensive on site card reader screens that cost as much as an ipad.... lol. So, yes, I can confirm that this card reader works with the ipad 3 and the package states it works with ipad gen1 and 2 also. Great product. I highly recommend. Here is the link again.

Just bought a CF SD card reader from Amazon sold by Edgar Zakaria. It doesn't work. You need to know how your card is formatted and if the reader and iPad are compatible. This reader ONLY works (I think) if the card is formatted in FAT32. I use Canon products so I'm out of luck with this reader. Need to return and try something else Maybe the M.I.C if it works with Canon DCMI folders and formatting.

Dawkins - I appreciate your legwork on this. I shoot professionally for the Army and I have an iPhone and the new iPad 4 (for those who might not know, it is an iPad 3 with the new Lightning connector plus a few other improvements). As a pro shooter using an EOS 7D with the CF cards I'm looking for the same solutions you were. I'm going to pursue the M.I.C reader so I can download shots wherever I am. If you come up with any other info I would like to hear about it. And to the M.I.C. people, you could have a gold mine here, if only Apple would screwing over their loyal users when it comes to interfacing with the iOS family. But that is another rant to aim at Cupertino. Hope everything keeps working well.

I had one that worked fine until Apple brought out iOS7 then it stopped working, as did everybody else's. Apple deny their upgrade has anything to do with this, but thousands of us know otherwise. Unfortunately their "We big boys want all the playground" ethos doesn't work either. Even if we were prepared to pay their over-inflated prices, they don't produce a CF reader for iOS7 so there are no alternatives available at the time of writing this. Apple of course are keeping very quiet.

I have tried several so called CF card readers unsuccessfully. All my cards are Lexar pro cards and 600x or faster. I was told that some of the smaller memory slower speed Sandisk cards will work but never went that route. Very disappointed that I was unable to move images to my iPad. I use iTunes sync and point the sync to special photo folders on my laptop to get images into my iPad. Not very efficient but it works.
