How do I move icons on the Dock
I am trying to rearrage the icons on my Dock and have forgotten how. I believe there is a key+click and drag option, but what key?
iMac, Mac OS X (10.7), MacBook Air, IPad v1, Apple TV v2

Click and hold down as you move it. You have to do before the pop up dialog occurs. Try again.
I'm having the same issue. I can move the icon, but the other icons will not make room for it and the icon does not stay in the new location.
You are absolutely right.....fast, which can be done with trial and error! Thanks to you and your quick son!!

I'm having exactly this problem. It's worked forever, and today it doesn't. They don't even wiggle a little. I'll try rebooting when I have a minute and see if that helps.
This worked for me. Click, pull up and out, then reposition, whether dock makes room for it or not, drop it in place. It just works.
i tried command + click and that moves it but you cant 'place' it!!!
You don't use the Command key !!! Just click and hold, then drag to the left or to the right.
Worked and tyvm!
Click and drag does not work for me either. It used too, but not now
Thanks - I had to do a 'search' for launchpad. Didn't know how to get to it. But, it worked!
Hate to jury rig, but this works.
Thanks
