PM G5 modell 11.2 Late 2005 - Boot issues..

Hi!

My PM G5 model 11.2 does not startup. I can hear the chime, they grey screen shows up and then there is a map with the questionmark blinking on the screen. By pressing the "open tray" button on the keybord nothing responds? Any clue.

Does it boot to Single User Mode, CMD+s keys at bootup, if so try...

/sbin/fsck -fy

Repeat until it shows no errors fixed.

(Space between fsck AND -fy important).

Hi BDAqua!

Tried out your suggestion with no luck. I had hopet that I could find the HD on the PM G5 through Firewire target disc mode, but the PM G5 went off. I connected the G5 to a MBP (intel) but no luck there. I replaced the G5s broken PSU with a PSU from another working similar modell G5 with a broken logic board. Had to take it apart completely and reassemble the machine. I pressed the SMU on the logic board before I fired up the machine. Have checked all the cables, but I cannot even perform a diagnosis and thermal calibration during ASD 2.6.3.

Have replaced the RAM with other RAM with no success.

Any further suggestion!

During startup, when I pressed the option/alt key the machine did response but the image that appear is not showing any Harddrives, only a right arrow and a circle with arrow. When pressing the right arrow agrey screen appears with the text on top;

Invalid memory access at XSRRO: 00000000. ff84604c XSRR1: 10000000.0200b030

Then they welcoms me to the Open Firmware and I get a message to continue type "mac-boot" and press retur. When doing that the machine continues to the grey screeen I had before and a filemap with the blinking questionmark.

Any clue about the message in open firmware? I did switced the Rm with other RAM and tested it. I even repaced the RAM within the slots now in 2-2.
