How to tab while writing/typing

While typing I want to tab. How do you do this.

There is no default tab key on the iPad. Some apps like Pages have a symbol that looks like an arrow going into a verticle line that provides the tab. In Pages that symbol is in the duller at the top of the doc.

You can also purchase the axternal keyboard for the iPad from Apple. It has a tab key.
