I've a IPhone 4s and I'm facing real problems to do a call. At the moment I'v e really most times dropped calls. I didn't get until now a idea why and how and also I didn't see until know a structure behind this failure. But it haappens not always and I think it have to do something with the signal coverage.
I'm living in Abu Dhabi, UAE, and my carrier is Etisalat.
iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1
My fiancé and I both have iPhone 4s. They work perfect. At least until I bought her a case for the phone made by coach that has a metal casing. As soon as she started using the phone case we dropped called constantly. If I remove the case and put the rubber one on it works fine. Put the metal case back on it drops calls. We both have Verizon for a carrier. The problem is without doubt the case. I bought her a new rubber case and now she hasn't dropped a call in months. Also you want to make sure you have updated your carriers towers with the phone. iPhone 4s works perfect with Verizon.( no I do not work for Verizon). Use a rubber case
I get dropped calls with or without a rubber fender. I tried using a bluetooth headset. I have tried using the phone by disabling 3G or data and still get dropped calls (albeit not as often). The product is flawed as a phone. Great Internet device but not a business phone. Apple shame on you. But carriers like Vodafone UK who cannot provide effecient 3G signal are also to blame.
When I go to Germany or other countried with strong / full 3G signal, I do not experience any dropped calls. Same with AT&T in SF area, full sustained signal and no dropped calls.
Headsets, fenders, OS versions in my experience have no bearing.
