Almost every shoot I do, Aperture manages to corrupt 5-10 RAW images?

Export from the Master to JPEG is not an option in Aperture. Only a Version can be exported as a JPEG where the master is a RAW. Explain, please?

In this whole tread I never once saw if you are shooting RAW or JPG. Which is it? If it's RAW have you tried JPG to see if they are also corrupted?

In your last post you said you open finder to view the images on the HD how did you do that, Quick Preview? Are the masters then referenced (stored outside the Aperture library) or managed (stored in the Aperture Library)?

If you import to the HD first and then import those images into Aperture are the original images also corrupted?

Until this is resolved you should import from the card to the HD and then import those images into Aperture. If the original images are corrupted then you know the problem is in the capture/import chain. If those remain OK and only get corrupted after import into Aperture then you know the problem is post import/Aperture.

Do you mean you are using Show Package Contents for the Aperture Library, finding the Masters folder, and then opening in the Finder?

Right my bad, so did he ever try JPG's or RAW+JPG to see if those are corrupted also?

I don't know that answer, but the randomness he reports would perhaps not point to that test, although the camera that produced the RAW might be useful to know?

I am still interested to know how the Mastere is being accessed to check, exactly?

One way to view, in Aperture, the Master is to press the "M" key to toggle to the Master vs Version.

In a Managed Library in Aperture, the only way to view a Master in the Finder is to locate it via Show Package Content -- I woulld expect you would know whether you are doing that.

It is very important to know whether you are in fact viewing a Master and that it has corrupted, or whether you display of a Version is corrupted, even when exported?

I saw that happen several times to my images too - scary - and I thought like you, that Aperture was doing that; but it turned out that I just have been watching the moment when Aperture recreated previews from the master image files. In all cases where I suspected Aperture of corrupting my images on import, the original masters backed up directly from the card had been corrupted. It can be confusing if the previews generated by the camera are o.k. and the master images are not, for during import you probably only see the previews. In my case replacing the card reader solved the problem.

The only way that could happen, I think, is when Aperture took the Preview from what had been created in the camera, and then replaced it with a newly generated one, from the corrupt Master. In that case the Master would have been corrupt when imported, but not noticed until the recreation of the Preview.

Daniel could test this by putting the card in the reader, letting it mount on the Desktop, opening with the Finder, and dragging it off to a new folder on the Mac, and then viewing it with Preview or Photoshop. Aperture would have to have its Import cancelled when it might open.
