Almost every shoot I do, Aperture manages to corrupt 5-10 RAW images?

Although you have posted some things previously that are inconclusive as to how you are testing with this, you did indicate that when you did a Show Package Contents, and drilled down to the Masters, you could find them and also find them to not be corrupted. Was this the case, but now is not the case?

So now that Mountain Lion is out I was curious how everyone's issues were proceeding. For my part i've been unable to save any of my corrupted issues and the problem is ongoing. Latest Aperture updates, latest OS, and still randomly getting images corrupted throughout my library.

anyone been able to fix their issues?

I have exactly the same problem and get the same corrupted images. It is much broader than just aperture. In fact, I cannot import raw images without problems on my imac using Canon software or other application without getting randomly corrupted images. What worked for me was running windows in VMWare and importing them into this virtual windows environment. But when I woud transfer the raw images to my OSX environment, processing them in any application would result in the same random corrupted images. So what I did was besides importing them in Windows, also process them in Windows and transfer my images to OSX as jpegs. That did not result in any corruption in aperture once they are in the system as jpegs.

The story unfortunately does not stop here. I got similar corruption issues with the jpegs when e.g. adding them in their original size in emails. This fortunately happens very rarely. What is bugging me at the moment is when I try to make an album from my jpegs in aperture and I want to buy the book through the apple store, the same corruption reappears in the very large pdf file that is created when you want to preview the book...

So is this a hardware problem? I only have problems when process images, so maybe the graphics card assuming it is not only used for the screen but also for processing images? This is really getting frustrating and dissapointing, especially considering the reputation of Apple for processing photo's and many other people having the same problem without solution.

Please let me know if you found how to resolve this. I will keep you all up to date on how I proceed in resolving this.

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for letting us know how you finally could resolve this. My mac is 4 1/2 years old, so not sure if I could get a replacement... I will bring my mac to the store so the technicians can check if there are hardware issues. Hopefully, they will find what is going on. If I understand you right, you never got an explanation of what was wrong (hardware, software, etc...)?
