What the heck is a NDSPCShowServer?

Found this on my computer and it gives me a crash notice but when I click ok it won't shut down. Have to reboot. did a search spotlight and don't see it. Any help would be appreciated on how to get rid of it. Last program I downloaded was Angry Birds Space.

I am on an intel iMac with 10.6.8

ahhh. yup! I noticed my iMac was slow to sleep as well. right after I installed the DirectTV Everywhere app as well! I also found that Google Chrome is adding another 30 seconds before sleep mode if it is open. (I know, I know, I hate Chrome being on my MAC but the wife likes it eerrr.) I found on Cnet that if you enter, pmset -g log, in terminal you can see what is taking up time during the sleep process. that showserv thing was timeing out at 30000 Ms or 30 seconds and Google Chrome if left open also times out at 30 seconds.... so, thats one minute! It sure felt like it was taking 1 minute to sleep.

Hey Haylie -- glad to help. I imagine it will work for any recent versions of OSX. (I probably should've listed my specs along with the fix/workaround. So just for posterity: 15" MacBookPro / 2.53GHz Intel Core 2 Duo / OS X v10.6.8.)

Just curious, was your issue caused by installing the DirecTv Everywhere app too -- or was it something else?

DirecTv has been advertising the heck out of that thing the last couple weeks. I get queasy flashbacks of my ordeal every time I hear it.

Here's what worked for me to uninstall NDSPCShowServer.DTV. Run Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app. Then change directory to NDSPCShowServer.DTV (without the quotes) "cd Library/NDSPCShowServer.DTV/" . Here you will see a bash script file called uninstall.command. Now enter "source uninstall.command". This seems to have entirely removed the software.

Cheers,

Jack

Thanks so much. That worked!

Also helps to know that you can access the Library from which to delete these files by going to Finder, then Go and then hold down the option key and Library will appear in the pick list. Once in Library, you will find the files you need to delete.

Now if only DirecTV would know this. I talked with them today and they knew nothing about this problem and their troubleshooting was a Google search. Very polite and professional but pathetic too.

I didn't find all of the files that gatorfantom mentioned here to solve the problem:

user > Library > Internet Plugins > PlayerPlugin.bundle

user > Library > LaunchAgents > com.nds.pcshow.plist

user > Library > LaunchAgents > com.nds.pcshow.uninstall.plist

user > Library > NDSPCShowServer > NDSPCShowServer.bundle

user > Library > NDSPCShowServer > uninstall.command

but I did find the last two using the Finder, then Go and then hold down the option key and Library will appear in the pick list. I realize you said you didn't find anything in Library, but I had a hard time until discovering the option key mentioned here. Good luck.

I have read this thread over and over again, but I cannot find the Library Folder under User. This darn window repeatedly pops up and won't go away unless I turn off my firewall, even if I hit allow or deny, it just keeps coming up.

I know this thread is for Snow Leopard, I am running Yosemite, PLEASE HELP I cannot have my firewall off. Thank you in advance!
