i relly am losing patience. i h8 the apple co. their products r cheap, i wasted 200 dollars on this and it wont work. dont they realize the ipod minis have so many problems- they stopped making them.

My Ipod min's battery died after 1.5 years, I sent it in to be replaced the battery, it was functioning well except that the battery died after 1 hour.Apple support returned the pod because it showed accidental damage. The plastic top on the pod was slightly lifted, I did not want a new product just a battery change. So what if there appears to be slight damage , just change the damm battery. So all you pod users out there do not even scrathh the damm thing because when the battery gives out and it will as most batteries do, you will be left with a worthless piece of non-powered junk.Apple wants you to buy a new machine.I did not, I bougtht Scandisc's player the battery is easily changeable.

I am back
Here is the link adress :
http://www.vsa.cape.com/~danh/ipod.htm#recalibrate
You will find all the solution for the Mini iPod…
I tested the 're-calibrate" rubrique… I reseted as I told you by pressing "play" to listen to a song (it was Joy division revisited by Massive Attack) and I suddenly pressed the "select" and the "menu" simultaneously (I did it several time because reseting in fact is quite hard )… Then I had the famous opening page with the language selection and have lost all the settings (the parameters), but not my music… I full-charged it… Each time I did it, it ussually didn't work in fact, only 1:30 because I turned off myself, and plugged it immediately instead of waiting for the iPod to shut down itself… Which was not the thing to do… You have to uncharge it until it shut down, and then to re-full-charge… By doing that you're re-calibrating your battery… In this page (the famous link), you will find all the instructions so as to re-calibrate the battery…
Now the result is : by plugging every time it reached the middle of the battery level, dumb as I am (and naive)… I only have 50% of the capacity of the battery… In this link, Dan H (a regular Apple discussion user) explains why we all are upset against apple even though we all are faulty… Because by charging it (as I usually do), we're weakening our battery life… Now I have 4 hours whereas until december I had about 7 hours… What should I say about myself…
Please, before reseting, take you time and read carefully the link I just posted to you… and then try to reset it… by reseting it (I told you) you delete the bad information that the memory of the iPod (mini or whatever) has saved which has caused the battery problem… Please Reset it after you iPod is plugged on… That's very important… (I didn't plug it on, but how scared I was to see the sad icon, or the folder one !! it didn't appear but…)…
waiting for your impression…

Did your iPo used to run 18h over ? If not, according to one of my friends who called iPod about his full-flat iPod (He's got a 4G but the B/W one), — he was supposed to have about 14 hours, but now his 4G runs about 7/8 hours over —, the li-on battery is not reliable, I would say weak… That's why Apple has proposed very early a program in order to change the battery, of course you need to be under warranty… Mine is only 3/4 hours (and sorry TamTamQT, I am very happy because it's a first generation supposing to cut off after 2 hours listenning according to what I read in many threads…)… I'm planning to change the battery for a new one… I heard that you can find many battery for 29,90 $… very reliable, and it works both 1rst and 2nd generation…
