The backup disk could not be found.

I have problems with backing up to Time Capsule. I constantly get the error message "The backup disk could not be found."

In the time machine preferences there is no problem to select the back-up disk.

In finder it is also mounted, visible and available.

That could be a number of things.

Start by just re-selecting it with Select Disk.

If that doesn't work, it's possible the preferences file (where the info is kept) is damaged. Try a "full reset" of Time Machine, per #A4 in Time Machine - Troubleshooting.

If that doesn't help, try resetting the TC, per http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3728

If still no joy, the backups themselves may be damaged. Try them, per #A5 inTime Machine - Troubleshooting.

The backup disk could not be found.
